Ok I know it's a goofy question but I got a Zune for Christmas and I was just wondering if they automaticlly turn off or is there a way? I want to preserve the battery but I feel like it's being left on all the time cause I never knew how to turn it off.

If you hold the play button it goes in to a sleep mode. If you want to power it down all the way hold down and the back button for a few seconds. and wala. Enjoy your Zune cause they rule

I just got a zune and wondered the same thing. My husband turned it off by running it over with a tow truck. It works.

Turn Zune on/off: Press and hold the play/pause button for 3 seconds.
suggest you take a peek at the manual as well...
