Smart Financially - yes

Smart from a sporting perspective - no

The move tells me that Figo no longer wants to play hard. He can now hang out at the beach and make a few more quid for a few years longer.

It was not smart for him to do that since he was in a star team but on the only good side he might help to promote soccer over there and perhaps start another great pretigious League that in the future can become more competitive and recognized and take part of the athletic market.

not for all the football fans out there....he's having a good season at inter and i would have rather seen him end his career in the premiership or MLS or even in portugal rather than with al-ittihad....
for him...they must have paid him an enormous ****-load of money that made him go insane and accept the offer...

he is in the twilight of his career he will be the MAN there and make lots and lots of money so its very good for him not so good for the sport
