Any multi vitamin marked Prenatal shoould be just fine. I take mine at night with a snack to prevent stomach upset. You'll need to take your prenatal vitamin every day; your practitioner will probably recommend one that contains these amounts of vitamins and minerals.
No more than 4,000 IU (800 ug) of vitamin A. Many manufacturers have reduced the amount of vitamin A in their vitamin supplements or have replaced it with beta-carotene, a much safer source of vitamin A.
At least 400 to 600 mcg of folic acid (folate).
250 mcg of calcium. If you're not getting enough calcium in your diet, you will need additional supplementation to reach the 1,200 mg needed during pregnancy. Do not take more than 250 mg of calcium (or more than 25 mg of magnesium) along with supplementary iron, since these minerals interfere with iron absorption. Take any larger doses at least two hours before or after your iron supplement.
30 mg of iron
50 to 80 mg of vitamin C
15 mg of zinc
2 mg of copper
2 mg of vitamin B6
Not more than 500 ug of vitamin D
Approximately the DRI for vitamin E (15 mg), thiamin (1.4 mg), riboflavin (1.4 mg), niacin (18mg), and vitamin B12 (2.6 mcg). Most prenatal supplements contain 2 to 3 times the DRI of these. There are no known harmful effects from such doses.
Some preparations may also contain magnesium, fluoride, biotin, phosphorous, pantothenic acid, or a combination of these.

The OTC ones are in simple terms as solid simply by fact the prescribed ones. The OTC ones have all the supplements which you and toddler decide on. The prescribed ones usually have somewhat greater supplements in them. So the two way your solid. i'm getting the only an afternoon prenatal supplements, $13 for a month grant. I use those ones from Walmart. Take them at night right before u go sleep. This way they wont make you feel so sick and you won't sit and think about getting sick. If you take some that make you sick then stop taking them and use a generic brand they seem to be less potent. BABY DUST!

I used DHA chewables because they taste good and when you do conceive and continue taking them they will stop your morning sickness they also gave me some energy. I'm going to get those when I go to my first prenatal appointment.

I take over the counter ones. They are one source. They are the only ones that didn't make me sick once I was pregnant. You wont feel sick just from taking them. I take mine at night so I don't have to deal with any ill effects because I just go to sleep. I hope you get pregnant quickly!!!!

For great taste and few side affects, try Citracal PrenatalRX. They taste and smell like vanilla cake.
