It depends both on the state and field that you are interested in. If for example, you live in the Midwest where there is a population drain then there will be less demand for tecahers because school enrollment is declining. This is not to say that finding a position in these areas is impossible, Special Education, Mathematics, and higher level sciences are in demand everywhere.

However, you should first do some research on the demand for teachers in your area. The best method is to contact the human resources dept of school districts in your area. (try to avoid asking the university because many advisors tend to say whatever you want to hear so long as you enroll) Also, if you want to teach in a field with low demand (social studies, language arts, PE, music) then you might want to consider moving to states with a high need such as NC,GA,CA,AZ

Depends on the town you apply. Teachers who cant find jobs also start as Corporate Trainers and then get teaching jobs.
(I never heard of a school closing, that is weird... Our school district cut jobs because they had to adjust the districts budget).

To the moron who said that the teachers union raises your property taxes. The teachers union has NOTHING to do with your taxes. It is the School Board which affects your taxes. The next time they have an election get off your butt and go vote.

They also DO NOT WORK 9 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR.
It's people like you who assume they know everything about a teachers career and they really dont know squat! A teacher works practically 11 months out of the year.

Nine of these months are during the school year. The other 2 months are during the summer spent on trying to help your child learn by taking in services classes and coming up with a new years worth of lesson plans. Then some extra remaining days are days off are government and religious holidays.

It relies upon on the area and the fee of living the place you reside. If the fee of living is intense (usually in med.-enormous cities) and this could be a low earnings college (which judging by utilising the common housing cost and the staring gross revenues it possibly is) and the call for for honors courses and AP training isn't there, then no, they are not grasping. it truly is perplexing paintings and that i'm prepared to wager greater effective than a million/2 are on blood tension drugs (heavily). yet while the community in all fairness good then definite, they are grasping. i'm a instructor, our beginning gross revenues is 25k, the common house is possibly approximately 80k. we've approximately 17 scholars according to type. Its additionally an extremely rural college. the full district is made out of under a million,000 scholars. lots of the youngsters are fairly properly behaved. As a instructor i do no longer see the difficulty in training as instructor's greed (no instructor has ever long previous into coaching for funds...it truly is in simple terms laughable), however the typical loss of admire for every physique diverse little ones have. that's particularly the mothers and fathers fault simply by fact there is a great deal of distinction from newborn to newborn, whether they have had the comparable instructors. besides the undeniable fact that i think its additionally the blame of society as total. usually little ones are coddled and enable go of familiar jobs far too lots.

There are teacher shortages all over the world, particularly in specialized areas such as math, computers, special education, counseling, administration, ESL, etc. Research the job market in the area where you would like to work, and train for an area where you know there are vacancies.

No, that's not right. There'll always be a need for teachers, especially in these times with students being so disrespectful to teachers.
