how much does it cost to fix a fan shroud?

for a 1995 BMW 525i, I need to repalace mine.... Any clues?

It depends if you have to replace or repair it..If not too bad I would suggest putting a piece of tin or aluminium across the broken part and drill holes into it, put in some rivets or screws, and bend it to same curvature of the shroud as I have done this on a couple of older cars where the shrouds were no longer available due to them being antiques. It is quite safe and all the shroud does is direct air across the radiator core to assist in the cooling effect of the engine coolant..if done correctly it could save you hundreds of dollars and time too.

the only thing a shroud is there for is to keep yer fingers out of the blades when the engine is going. if u were to peek under the hood of an old 60's or 70's vintage car, u wouldnt find 1. some just cant keep their mitts away from the fan when the engine is running, so the manufacturer's decided to start adding them to keep peeps from gettin sliced up from being stupid.
they have no mechanical value per sae, they could create more of a suction effect to the front for slightly higher airflow, but if this was my car, i'd junk the shroud and keep motoring.

FIX ? is it cracked ? or in pieces ? If you just need to get the shroud out of the way, a hours of mechanic time should do it. $100.00

It might be better find a replacement at a junk yard.
