Color contact choices?

I'm thinking about getting color contacts, but I've never worn anything but glasses. My eyes are naturally a muddy greenish-brown color, and with dark brown hair, it looks kind of blah. Can I go to a lighter color like grey or green, or will those not show up? Also, are there any brands of color contacts that you all recommend? Thanks!

i dont know... but my friend has dark brown hair and she got light blue ones. at first it use to freak me out, now i think they're cool.
