County Cork has a total population of a little over 420,000 of which approximately 127,000 live in Cork City.

There was a census in Ireland on 23rd April 2006. Preliminary reports released give the figure as 361,766 people in the county and 119,143 people in Cork City... The final results won't be released till some time after April 2007 (the website says April - December 2007 - pretty vague!).

In 1991 the population of Cork (town) was 127,000 so by now it will be nearer 130,000 I should think.
