Should'nt we do lethal injection or something? Seriously, we haven't hung people for like 100 years. It's like 1 step below the electric chair. I don;t really care or feel sorry for him but it might make them look more modern.

Saddam should obviously be punished for what he has done (which he has now), just like any other criminal. My uncle was hung for his beliefs against his government. So I'm against hangings. We as Americans think of it as inhumane but in the Middle East it's common.
I also believe that the government has the right to punish criminals, but when the punishment is slow and painful, it seems unnecessary to me. Once they're dead, they're dead. It doesn't matter how they died. The point is that they died. It seems like the government was trying to get revenge on him, not punishing him.
Just my opinion.

I see a lot of you saying "let's let him taste some pain before he dies!" What you don't notice is that you're lowering yourself to his level by saying this. He deserves to die for what he has done, that much is clear. Nothing is gained by torturing him. Torture and vengeance do not belong in the framework of an ethically responsible person, regardless of circumstance.

As for him hanging - that's what the Iraqi people have deemed appropriate. It is their court, and their decision.

That's the thing its not America hanging him its Iraq. The judge said that not even Iraq's own president can stop it. And lets face it once Saddam's dead Americas going to change Iraqi law and make hanging illegal.

i ain't American, nor do i feel the immense emotions i seem to be seeing in the responses and media, but i do know that yes he was criminal beyond..
that he deserves a fair trial, yes, fair for both sides without foul play.
i also feel that the buck cant just stop here,if you gas Saddam, you set a standard for the future,no pun intended as i am also grieved with the outcome of 9/11,but there are governments and a peoples so ruthless that they could contemplate such an act of terrorism, and its allot closer to our own backyards.
problem-reaction-solution ,your basic manipulating tactics daily being used against you and me,yet we reside in two different countries.
who placed Saddam in power..?
no disrespect intended.

This question was horribly worded. If you are asking the question you shouldn't include something to try and sway answers.

Anyways... Yes, he should be hung! You should be hung too for not thinking he should be hung!!! Why not hang him, either that or firing squad with BB guns!

Hanging is too kind for a j-off like him..they should set him free among the families that he destroyed and let them administer justice upon him at a slow and painful rate too..not a speedy snap of the neck, nice and slow and very painful for that kind of animal..

Iraq should hang him only after weeks or months of torture. A quick and painless execution of this man is too humane for what he has done to so many of his own people. Let him experience some fear and pain before he gets his exit.

WE aren't doing anything.

The hanging is something from another culture, totally foreign to American standards of what is right and wrong.

Let them do it the way they feel is best, whether we dislike it or not.

That son of a ***** should have been fed acid....They should have crazy glued his *** closed and fed him beans till he died...They should have started using him as a pin cushion....and you..the one that started this question, you should be hung for having compassion on someone who has killed thousands upon thousands of people, women and kids.
