I got two aquababies for Christmas and I was wondering if it would be okay to put them in a small fishbowl? They're like frogs but they have to be taken care of like a fish. I just dont know if they need to be kept in a small container like the one I got them in (about 3x5x5 in. container) or if I could get a bigger bowl so they'd have more room.

Also, they need to have bacteria gravel? What is this and can it be any kind or do I have to buy a certain type?

Thanks!

put them in something larger. the frogs will be much happier and healthier in a bigger tank.

im not exactly sure what 'bacteria gravel' is, maybe the previous answerer has provided a link that'll help you with that, but i think what you mean is a substrate/gravel with established bacteria colony. yeah. thats probably what you mean.
all captive aquarium animals need an 'established' tank in order to live out their lives in a healthy manner.
to establish a tank, we need special bacteria to grow and colonize in the substrate( any substrate) or in the filter (special filters, google 'bio' filters)... so they can change bad stuff into good stuff, which then becomes bad again.. blah blah blah,,, water changes then are necessary.
anyway, you can buy the special bacteria. it'll take a couple weeks.
you could buy 'messy' fish- like goldfish - to do the job, but that too will take a couple weeks.
the easiest thing to do, is take some gravel and water from an already running tank- at least a month or two old, the older, the better, and use that substrate and water. ... and periodically change about 20% of the water....................................

there's a lot for you to read. -- google: 'establishing aquariums" or something.

but... above all, get your little frogs into something larger.
and ....uh, to make use of your 'aquababies,' put an aquatic plant in them. .... or ... sell them or something. dont put any other living creature in there! maybe a snail, but thats still cruel.

ALSO! dont believe the bs you'll find on that aquababy website!
that is utterly SHOCKING! they have BARBS in those things! UGH! " happy three year old AquaBabies family." dont believe that crap. nothing, except mabye a clam, would be happy living in such a tiny enclosure for so long.

Aquababies are tiny little fish tanks that aren't even big enough to put a fish in, they aren't a type of animal. Aquatic frogs are usually called african dwarf frogs or african clawed frogs. Here are some links about both the dwarf and the clawed frogs, http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/mypets/dwarfs.html

yes, as long as they don't need a filter
