hey, hear me out. im a 16 year old boy form malaysia and a proud muslim. ive been a member for about a month, and theres sometin in my chest i really need to let out.

truly, im sad. reading other users insulting and mocking my religion everywhere they could possibly write. the fact that people constantly associate Islam with violence and hostility, stereotyping muslims with terrorism, manipulating facts and teachings of the quran, stating that the quran teaches hatred and violence towards others. contless it seems......

my question here is, is it fair? fair to me and other muslims? just coz a few bad apples in the muslim society people are branding Islam the disease of malevolance, muslims as psycophantic insanely malicious crazy terroist!!?

but ill tell u what irritates me the most, the fact that people giving false statements bout the teaching of the quran, twisting & turning facts. and dont deny all this. coz its true and its happening every second of the day. give opinions plz..

There are a lot of stupid people out there. They of every religion, country of origen, and ethnic background. It was christian terrorists that blew up a building in my home city. That is Oklahoma City, OK in the U.S. just so no one gets the wrong idea. Every religion has wackos looking to hurt somebody.

What do I think about you? Knowing your 16 tells me more about you than knowing your Muslim. I hope the world becomes more understanding as you grow into adulthood.

The problem is fanaticism, not religion. However, religions seems to breed fanaticism. Most religions have the "This is the One True Way" idea, firmly in place. Once one believes that they're a member of the privileged few... those that have _the_ truth, then everyone else will be looked down on in one way or another, and that is the cause of the majority of strife in our world. Those who don't believe as we do get turned into "those who oppose the truth", or those who need to be "shown the light".

Once humanity grows up, and accepts that diversity of faith is simply part of the human condition, and that _no one_ has absolute truth on issues of faith... then perhaps we will be able to become civilized, and treat each other with the respect that most of those faiths claim to support.

I condemn any religious fanatics who treat others badly, or try to force others to do something because of faith. It's a matter of action, not of belief.

First off its not just a few people. Its whole civilizations, saudi arabia, iraq, iran, afghanistan, sudan, pakistan, indonesia, and even your own country mylasia has problems with islam. Look ive been your position before, in fact that would have been me two years ago cuz i used to be a muslims. But I bet that you've only read the quran in arabic and dont understand a word of it. Read the quran in a language you can understand and you'll see that your not a muslim, because i believe that your a good person. Heres some to get you started:
>Sura 5:51: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends....
>Sura 47:4: Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks
>Sura 5:38: Cut off the hands of thieves.....
>Sura 5:33: Those who make war with Allah and his messenger will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off.....
>Sura 4:34: ....the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in their sleeping places and beat them....

if u say u are a true muslim, then theres is quite a lot i can say about u!
i can say that u believe all the racist and not so peaceful things that are written in the Koran.
be sure u know what u believe in beofre u associate relsef with any religon ... ot just islam

i am by no means implying that u should slect what u like and ignore the rest and still call ureslef a muslim.
religions are not a buffet table.

take care

Most religious people's minds are oblivious to reality, they are so wrapped up in what they believe in that others cannot get thru to them, and when one tries, they become either hostel, arrogant or very defensive, my own experience with a couple who were at one time very close friends read me a passage in the bible and I could not agree, we read it over and over and when I still could not see it their way they became very upset with me and they would not have anymore to do with me and other friends of there's disliked me also. This is only one of many times I've had problems with religious friends and so I have only one course and that is to avoid them and I do have a much better life without all those closed minded type of people..

We have a former PLO terrorist named Walid Shoebat who speaks against radical islam.

Tell me if you think he speaks the truth or not: http://shoebat.com

I would like to ask you how did you formulate your opinion about your religion? Did you hear the side of the people against your religion before you made up your mind that it was the right path or did you only listen to the side of people that were for your religion?

I don't think that the American people have any major problems about the fundamentalist Muslims practicing their Islamic faith. Our problem is with the radical Islams. Besides how are we supposed to know the difference? You look so much alike. We all know that they will lie to protect themselves, but we don't know that you won't. That's the problem.
