see if your area has a First Night Celebrations, some of the suburbs do where I live near Chicago. they are non- alcholic events concerts and entertainment, singers, puppet shows, jugglers, ice sculptures etc.. alot of big cities and suburbs have them and they are usually free or a small donation to the town village
