I have a wireless connection to my desktop but, almost in perfect intervals, the signal drops and re-connects within seconds. This would be fine if my comp didnt freeze and force me to have to "end now" and re-open the internet. Also, whenever I watch video or listen to audio off the internet, it plays, but promptly freezes when the video or song are over. My roomates comp is hardwired to the router and he never has any internet drops. The computer/router/wireless card are less than 48 hrs old. Any ideas? Is this what you have to put up with with wireless?

I have the feeling that this is not a hardware problem, it may even be something that will correct itself, however, reconfigure the router and make sure your computers mac adress is listed, or do a search for your computer from the router, also make sure you only have one encryption code listed.
Bottom line this is not something you just put up with butit could take about a week to get it working just right.
That's usually about how long it takes me to get around to focusing on debugging.

Try what jaz said for starters... also try updating the drive for your wireless nic.

What about your signal strength? If it is not "excellent", try moving your computer closer to the router or vice versa.

Do you have a 2.4GHz phone at home? If so, this could be interfering and you can try another channel on the router...

First if it is a linksys router you need to update the firmware mine did the same at 1st. If you update it then reset the router and then reprogram the router it will work just fine. Here is the link to update the firmware. You need to download the 2ed one on the list.
