Hmm, the drive for most organisms is very strong, and in humans we have expressed in our religions and laws. Reguardless of your beliefs or persuasion, death is a pretty final act, and unless you can prove scientifically that reincarnation occers, you dont get a second chance. I'd advise you to look at yourself and see how you can like yourself better.
I considered death as a way out at one time, and I'm definitely glad that I didnt take it.

We can plan our own deaths, if we so choose (provided we don't get hit by a bus or anything 'till then). I think I may go when I'm 80, if I'm lucky and get that far.
If you mean you actually intend to end your life soon because you are depressed and no longer want to live, please seek psychological counselling immediately. Depression can be treated very effectively.
I'd also recommend Feeling Good by Dr. David Burns.

I think I understand what the poster is saying. It's nothing suicidal, if I'm right. I've wondered about this too. We can control our bodies, for the most part we can control what we think...why can't we just up and die without something else causing it?
