In order for your body to begin the menstrual cycle, your body has to have a certain fat content. If you're very thin, your body may just not be ready yet. Don't worry though- I didn't start my period until my 8th grade summer and I was 14 1/2 by then! I believe my aunt was 15! My family didn't eat a lot of meat, and I could hula hoop a Cheerio I was so thin (still am- but I've had 2 babies and just have a fast metabolism). Make sure you're getting enough to eat, are healthy, and don't worry too much. Enjoy not dealing with a period while you can- soon you'll have cramps, headaches, mood swings, and have to deal with feminine products. Some of your friends are probably jealous!

First of all, please let me tell you that I am very curious about how would a guy answer to this question... :p And now let's look at your problem! You say that you are only 13...I don't find it so strange that u haven't got your period yet. Plus, as you have already told us, your friends are also in the same situation as u r. This should make you realize that u r not a singular case. I really don't know why do u worry! Trust me, once you've had your first period, you'd do almost anything not to have to go through the same thing every month. My advice to you is to tell your mother about your concern. And I am sure that she will tell u the same thing as I did. Don't be ashamed of her: as a woman, she passed already through this experience and she knows what's best. My mom for instance told me that she first got her period when she was 16. As for the pregnancy, don't worry! My mom had me without any problems, so....just enjoy your childhood while u still can and stop worrying about this matter! You'll have a lot of time to do that when u r grown up! Kiss!

Thirteen isn't a magic number - there are so many variables that contribute to when you start your period. That can be affected by your weight, family history, hormone levels, general health...on and on it goes.
I was very slender as a young girl, and I didn't start until I was fifteen. Like you, I was panicked about it, mostly because everyone was telling me that's when you're a "real" woman.
Horsehockey! You'll get it soon enough, and chances are you'll be praying that you didn't have to fool with it. It's a nuisance, "normal" and "natural" a function though it is. Now I'm panicking that I won't hit menopause by 45! :-) I want to be through with all this madness!
Anyway, don't worry. Unless you're anorexic or bulemic (and you generally control that), there's no reason not to think that this is perfectly normal for YOU.

♥ Don't worry it is normal not to have your period at 13 years old. Some people get it when they are young and some get it when they are older. By the way I know this has nothing to do with this question but I thought you said you were Vanessa Williams on that one question you answered about do famous people get on yahoo. Whatever lol. Be happy that you don't have your period yet. Enjoy it

calm down...this is very normal...some women don't start their periods until they are older like 15 or 16...my sister was 17 when she started hers....she was freaking too but the doctor told her every thing was normal and every one is different....girls tend to start their periods earlier now...13 is average but its not the norm so don't worry, relax it will be here before you know it and then you'll be wishing you didn't have to deal with it. more than likely there are no problems at all and you will not have any problem have children. give it a few months or until you're 14 then if you're still really concerned ask your mom and maybe see a doctor but truthfully....you're fine and normal

Meseral? Do you mean menstrual? You will eventually get your period. My mom and sister were 14 years old before they started yours. If you don't start by age 17 you need to see a doctor. You may have a delay if you are aneroxic/too skinny.

Not everyone starts their menstrual period at the same time. At your age, you shouldn't worry about not having started yet. Some people start young, but others don't start until much later. You really have nothing to worry about, as you're only 13. There's a lot of girls who haven't started by that age.

1. It comes to girls at different ages, some as early as 8 or 9 and others as late as 15 or 16. I started early but my sister fairly late. If you're really concerned, talk to your doctor. He/She can probably give you tablets that should settle out any hormone imbalance.
2. Why are you asking this in "rugby"?!
