the answers provided so far are for same network unlocking the handset. the asker is seeking to unlock from one network so he/she can use the phone on a different network.
s/he has three choices either go to a local phone shop and ask them to unlock the phone, contact the company the phone is currently locked to and ask for an unlock code theses two options will most likely cost the asker a few pounds to get the job done. finally the last option is to go to www.softpedia.com and look up a little program called universal unlock or something to that effect. use the search feature top right of the page.

I had this program installed but removed it so i can not help other than point you where to go.

good luck.

You'll need your phones serial number which you can get by taking out the sim and then typing #06#. The s/n may also be printed in the battery compartment. The unlocking codes for features and networks are in the format #pw#12345678#1 or #2, both entered with no sim installed. To get the unlocking code you'll need to Google for an unlocking code program which will ask for you phone model and the serial number. Can't give you a url cos they keep moving around and not all models are in all of the unlock code programs. I've used this technique successfully on a Nokia 3310 and 3210.

There isnt 1 code its is different for every phone as it is based on the serial IMEI number.

Two main ways contact the network the phone is locked to i.e Vodafone and give them the IMEI number (you can find it under the battery or by typing *#06# into the phone

Or
