If you found out that your mother isnt really your mother. Would you walk away?

There are two kinds of mothers, well, there might even be more, but two will suffice for this question. There is the biological kind, meaning the mother who concieved you, carried you, gave birth to you. Then there is the mother who loves you, raised you, and shared her knowledge with you. Both are real, both are important, they can be one and the same person, or they can be separate people. Walking out on the woman who raised you as her own is walking out on your mother, regardless of the fact that she may not have given birth to you. No, I would not walk away, for the fact that she didn't bring me into the world does nothing to change the fact that she helped to guide me through it, and it doesn't eliminate the memories we share together. The word mother has a lot of meanings, don't let one definition ruin something beautiful.

I don't have my mom anymore since she passed but if I found out she wasn't my biological mom, I would at first have to deal with the confusion but then have to realize she was my mother because she loved me like no one else every will. Don't walk away from someone who loves you and dedicated their life to you.

I would be hurt and have a ton of questions on why and how that happened? But I wouldn't walk away because when it all boils down that's still your mom and I'm sure the lying was done for a reason and everyone deserves a second chance...

Ask alot of questions?

If she raised you - she's your mother. Regardless of DNA, any woman that spends her life raising a child is a mother. Love her, and respect that she doesn't care about genes. Where is your biological mother? - not much of a mother when you don't know her, and she hasn't been around to raise/feed/clean/care for you?

hell no. that woman raised me for my entire life, and i would never walk away. don't get me wrong i would be incredibly pissed off and confused and probably wouldn't talk to her for a couple of days, but i would get over it. blood means nothing to me, maybe since i already have a stepfather who is more of a father to me than anyone i have ever seen.

my mom tries to tell me that i'm adopted all the time. it never works. i look just like her.

Absolutely not. She is your mother, she might not have given birth to you but she is still your mother. Don't let your anger with the one who gave you up affect your relationship with the one who wanted you.

I hope that makes sense.

No, I wouldn't walk away, but I'd like to know who my mom was and why I hadn't known sooner.
