Simply use a reflector. If you locate your router low in the house and in the corner - put the reflector behind it and direct it up and toward the inside of the house. Just the opposite if you have it high in the house. You will find that this will help some. Depending on your router you may be able to adjust the output power and increase it that way. Otherwise, you may have to invest in a different wireless router with higher signal strength. Hope this helps...

Pick up a wireless network access point or extender. It amplifies your signal. Anyone at a computer store, circuit city or radio shack should be able to help you find one.

BTW, I think your brother wanted you to look goofy with foil on your head. There's no way the foil would work.

Most wireless routers have a removable antenna. You may be able to pick up a large antenna at a radio shack or something.

What type of router are you using now?? The 'N' type are stronger and are backwards compatible with 'a', 'b', 'g' and 'ag'
series PCI cards/card bus. They have a broader range and are faster. If this doesn't help try an indoor range extender in between router and computers.

one problem I did to get the instantaneous signal to attain into yet another progression became use the instantaneous Bridge device from Linksys. It captures the signal and outputs an ethernet connection. From there you may plug it right into a router, stressed or instantaneous. in addition they make larger attenas for the linksys routers, i imagine they advance the signal, yet they are meant to advance the variety.
