I don't go up to the city much and was wondering if there was any way to get free parking. How does validation work?

UPDATE: Not all meters are free on Sunday in SF, the meters in the most popular areas aren't. I doubt if they are anywhere near the embarcadero.

Find a meter on a Sunday- All meters are free on Sundays or Weekdays after 6.. that's the only way to get free parking there for longer than 1 hour other than having someone else pay.

Starting at Market, drive south on Church.
Look for a free place to park. Double check the signs.
Hop on the J train into town.

This was my favorite option for parking Downtown.
