There are many ways to make them first you can buy white wax, you can color them by using old crayons parts or old candles. you can also bye scents for them at you local hobby store in the same place as you find the wax, they also have containers that you can make them in but you can use empty baby food jars they are a great size for gift giving and trying out new colors and scents. but any glass jar will work, just tie your wick to a pencil and lay it across the top and it will keep it centered so that is stayed in place when you pour in the hot wax..
Its also fun to hide small charms in then so when you give them as a gift when the burn them the will come find your surprise.

I do this often just for fun. You can make aall kinds of carzy creations by getting the leftover wax from candles you have already used and putting them in a pot. Heat the pot on the oven until the wax is melted.
Get a glass container, depending on the size desired and insert a wick, they can be bought at any candle store. After this, pour the wax into the container and let it dry.
Now you have a home made candle. After a while you will get a feel for mixing flavors and you will be able to make the candles exactly how you want.

The supplies needed for pouring wax candles can be expensive, especially if you get into scents and different colors. Consider making beeswax candles. I bought a kit with 20 sheets and wicks at my local art store for under $6. That's less than 0.30 per candle. The sheets come in different colors, and you can make cutout shapes to adhere to candles of different colors, or roll different colors together. Furthermore, the candles are smokeless and dripless, so they aren't messy. And they are so easy to make, a monkey could do it.
