That's so cute! I have a 6 yr old boy, a 20 month old girl, and am pregnant. I have never had that happen. They actually go around saying that they are going to have babies! I have them talk to the baby all the time, maybe that makes it more real. They also see the midwife sometimes and hear the heartbeat....

good luck!

I think hearing the heartbeat will get her more into the spirit. Maybe she is starting to realize she is not going to be the only one anymore. She could be saying your not pregnant because she doesn't want you to be. Make sure she knows even though a new baby is coming she is still your daughter and that you will love both children. Tell her about all the ways she can help you now and when the baby comes.

She'll get it. It's hard for a kid that young to hold on to the idea, because it's a LOOOONG wait for them, and there's nothing to really see or touch. Taking her to the doctor to hear the heartbeat is a start. Showing her ultrasound pictures is a help, too. Are you going to find out the sex of the baby? If so, take her with you to the ultrasound appointment. She'll get to see the baby moving, and find out the sex with you. That'll be exciting, and finding out the sex will make it MUCH more real to her. She'll be able to start putting a face to the baby, and to imagine a future with it. It's hard to imagine a future when you don't know the sex.

Don't worry about it. It's hard for a seven year old to grasp something that isn't going to really happen for months. There will be plenty of time to get her used to the idea of a new brother or sister when the arrival is just a few weeks away. Let her enjoy her last few monthts as an only child.

Hearing the heartbeat or seeing the baby on an u/s will help. Also as your belly gets bigger and rounder, then she'll realize that something is going on!! And when that baby is born, she'll believe it!

Congrats!

She'll come around... it's hard for kids to understand until they can actually SEE something. But taking her to the Dr. may do the trick. It's not really tangible, but kinda cool....

Good luck!

She's 7. It really shouldn't be a priority to convince her about ANYTHING. She'll get it as soon as your baby arrives.
