The only way to have twins is to have your mother carry the gene. The father can carry the gene as well and pass it along to a daughter but him having the gene does nothing for the mothers ovaries. the ovaries releases the eggs, nothing to do with the father.

My boyfriend is a twin. His sister will most likely have twins. He carries the gene. He can pass it down to his daughter, not his son. His mother is a twin and of course had him and his sister (twins). His aunt is a twin of his mother and had twins herself. His grandmother was a twin and had twins (his mother and aunt).

Why would you want a twin pregnancy?
Educate yourself. The probability of prematurity and complications is much higher in twin gestations.
There are ways to increase your chance of twin pregnancy but I would consider it highly unethical to post them here. Talk to your Ob/Gyn physician.

None, most often, it is hereditary, on the genes inherited from our parents, or grand parents.
