No, I started out living with a junky mom who gave sex for drugs. I lived in seven differient states before I was ten years old. Now I am VERY wealthy, living in South East Asia, with a couple of houses and several business of my own. How big you make it in life is determined by how hard you work. Those who succeed are willing to work harder, and take bigger risks then those around them.

You don't have to be born with connections you can make your own. The more people that are impressed by your drive, ambition, honesty or whatever - these are the people who will think of you when your qualities are needed. I know some people in business who have some real duds for offspring - Daddy will always be supporting them. Others who have gems will groom those kids to take over the business or direct them into a good occupation. The employees that shine will share this same treatment. The work place is where you make your start. Remember there is nothing that you do that is not witnessed by someone - from picking your nose to helping someone.

Absolutely not. You are the master of your destiny. You figure out what you want in life. Then you break it down into baby steps on how to reach that goal. Make a chart showing each step and keep track of your progress. Sure there will be detours, but that's life. Just keep your eye on the target. If you stumble and fall, pick your self up, dust your self off and say "Okay that didn't work, lets try something else". I know a guy who grew up the son of a pig farmer. But he wanted to be a college teacher. He worked to get his B.S. building hog troughs. There were some detours, but he ended up with a doctorate from Brown University in Providence, Phi Beta Kappa. Taught for at one place for 20 years. And over all his students loved him. Bought him cards and little teacher gifts. So you can do it. Just stay focused. What you can believe you can achieve. Go for it.

Let me tell you this: it doesn't matter who you are, or where you come from. If you have determination, and you go all the way to achieve something, you WILL achieve it. If you surround yourself with good people, and aren't afraid of going up to someone and starting a conversation, you WILL have goodness in your life. And if you make mistakes, and learn from them, and transform them into learning something, you'll create wisdom.
Of course, every one has trouble in life, and trouble with life, but every time you fail, or back away from something with fear, you set yourself up for more disappointment. The idea is to make yourself bold. So people on the street are mean bastards? Who cares!You don't know them; they don't know you - so it's unimportant.
Just because someone has no parents doesn't mean that they can't live a full life. And just because people can't "make it big", doesn't mean that they can't be happy. In fact, the majority of people that are happy are the ones rolling in much less of ze cash.
The rule I have for life is the "giving and receiving" method. And it doesn't involve favours or gifts.

I think it is true to a certain extent; but you meet people and you make connections then you have connections, does that make sense? I too had no family when I started out, but I met people and made connections and now I know many many people all connected to the work I do.

As a psychology major, I have studied several theories concerning adopted children. Because you are not 'connected' to your birth parents, there is a certain emptiness you experience as you mature that is difficult to fill. What you fill that emptiness with will determine whether you 'make it big' in life or not, so I sincerely hope you surround yourself with positive people, people who will lift you up and support you in your times of need and love you unconditionally. Anyone can make it big in life and anyone can fail. Ultimately a person is responsible for their choices they make. Whether they are good choices or bad, they will suffer or enjoy the consequences.

Not true making it "big" takes ambition, hard work, and good timing (meaning a little luck). You can open your own doors.

meeting people will definitely make a difference in your life...you don't have to have a connected family to get connected...but you do have to take responsibilty for getting connected...get out and make friends!

Not true. Many famous people were adopted.
