No, microwaves sometimes heat unevenly and that could cause hot spots in the water which could burn the childs' mouth. You can, however heat a cup of water in the microwave, take it out and then set the bottle down in it to heat it.

You can warm the bottle in the microwave, just make sure that you test it on your wrist first. 10-15 seconds works best. I would however recommend using warm tap water whenever possible.

I use warm water out of the tap to mix formula with. If I need to reheat it, I use the microwave, with the lid/nipple off the bottle. You don't want to be microwaving your bottle nipples. Also, no matter what you do, check the temp first to be sure it's not too hot. Shake it a couple of times to make the temperature consistent. This will eliminate any potential hot spots.

Hello,

No! No! No!

Please do not warm up any of your babies liquid or food products in the microwave. Microwaves are not very good at all. Hence the name, micro wave.

Even though we adults use the microwave sometimes, this is not a good thing for infants and toddlers.

Hope this helps you................ : - O

Ok, ok. Now, everyone says "No, no. you can't use the microwave because it heats unevenly, and there could be 'heat pockets.'" now, i guess this could be true, but i always used to heat my baby's formula in the microwave. First of all, it's not like you heat it to really hot anyways. I would microwave it for only like 15 seconds at a time and take it out and shake it a lot to be sure the heat was evenly distributed. So, although it's not recommended, i think you can do it if you are careful.

I do, the main reason they say its bad is becuase a microwave heats from the inside out, and there's the random stupid people that dont bother to shake the bottle after its come out of the microwave. Just remember to test the formula and shake the bottle.

Yes it is safe to warm the water in the microwave, but not to warm breast milk or formula as this could damage the protiens etc. Be sure to use water that has been boiled previously though, you can boil a large quantity at once and then store it in your fridge, as it is recommended to not give young babies water straight from the tap.

You aren't supposed to use the microwave to heat a baby's bottle I usually use distilled water/nursery water and heat it up on the stove in a pot. This is by far the easiest and safest way to do it.

You need to be extremely careful, because it can heat unevenly. (The water will be cold toward the top or outsides, and scalding hot in the middle.) Just make sure to not warm for too long--start at about 15 seconds MAX for an 8 oz bottle, and shake REALLY, REALLY well before giving to the baby, and then test it to make sure it's not too hot.

I used a baby bottle warmer but soon figured out my daughter liked her milk cold straight from the fridge.

I heard microwaves take some of the nutrients....probably not much though.
