Think "college professor" and what's the first thing you think of politically?

Think "biologist" or "geneticist" and what comes to mind, politics-wise?

Is it just a coincidence that it has been statisitically proven that the more educated you are the more likely you are not to be conservative or vote Republican?

I have no doubt people can cite examples of educated conservatives, but it's clear that the majority of the intelligensia, the education community and the science community, indeed the smartest people tend to be dreaded "liberals"

Why do you think that is? Far more often than not the only exception to this rule is some leaders of industry (greed) and people who have some kind of moral/religious soap box they are standing on (intolerance)

Explain.

The conservative philosophy, as it currently stands, is inherently self-centered... it focuses on keeping money for one's self, keeping one's self safe, providing for one's own children at the expense of others. One can argue that there is nothing wrong with looking out for number one, but with education tends to come a sense of greater responsibility. Those with wider horizons tend to recognize the commonality of humanity.

Even more interesting than studies of education and political association are the more specific studies. One recently showed that registered Republicans are far less likely to have a passport than registered Democrats. Another showed that children with social acceptance issues are more likely to grow up to vote conservative/republican.

Conservatives tend not to be willing to admit that these tendencies even exist however. Which may say something in and of itself.

You question is flawed the polls has shown that Conservatives on average have more education than liberals.
One of the things you fail to take into account is our public schools are basically run by liberals why do you think that even though we spend more money per student than anywhere else int the world we are not even in the top 20% in academics it makes you wonder if the dumbing down of people is a liberal conspiracy.

As for college professors these people don't work in the real world and their whole thinking is usually base on theory so they can pontificate all day long without having to face the challenges that the average worker face.
Now if you had a choice to learn to swim and there were 2 people ,one that did not swim but wrote a book about swimming and one that was a good swimmer which one would you choose hence that's why they came up with the statement that those who cannot do..... teach.

And where did these "intelligentsia" receive their education? In the liberal biased higher education system. In order to advance from Bach to Master to PHD, one must agree with liberal instructors. You will also find the people that deal with reality, in business, engineering, instead of myopic fields that deal with theory, are more conservative.

And it isn't greed in industry. It is just a practical understanding of the way the world really works. I have asked this question before, but I'll ask it again. How many liberals here own their own business? When you run a business you realize you have to deal with reality. That warm fuzzy feeling liberals get when the say they are protecting the working man, isn't based on reality. I have done more for the working man by giving him a job, treating him fairly, and paying him a day's wage for a day's hard work.

there have been some polls which instruct a comfortable detrimental correlation between training or IQ and non secular concept. There are issues of maximum of those styles of study. initially, correlation isn't causation. Secondly, study could be slanted to instruct just about something you pick. simply by fact the 2nd poster referred to, in case you ballot in a heavily Christian section you are able to desire to get one set of numbers. different study i've got seen learn in simple terms scientists and one grow to be in simple terms laureate scientists, that slanted the learn yet differently. somewhat lots a number of those findings instruct you is the unfairness that the researcher is beginning out with.

Having intelligence does not necessarily make you smart. Many intellectuals have no common sense whatsoever.

When faced with a life or death situation, I'd much rather rely on someone with street smarts than an intellectual any day!

Brains does not a good person make!

Because they know better. They aren't afraid to see the world for what it is, while others are willing to rely merely on what they're told and emotional reactions.

Your premise is flawed.
