An erection is actually caused by the RELAXATION of the muscles of the penis. During sleep the body relaxes, including these muscles. This allows blood to flow into the penis making it partially or fully erect. you should also notice, that your nipples are erect when you wake up for the same reason.

Normal would be most days, lucky would be every day.
Biologically, testosterone levels peak in the early morning--yes, there is a biological clock and a daily rhythm for this kind of thing.
If the guy is sleeping with a woman who is receptive to his arousal, well, she can expect he will be aroused in the morning, and probably any other time of day she's around.

Yep. 2 billion men a day wake up with one, it is normal. We also have night wood several times during sleep. Keeps it flushed and healthy in case we get lucky!

It's pretty normal. Ever heard of "morning wood"? Most guys do wake up hard, so no worries. Not too sure why, though.

yeah it is normal. when you are deep asleep, the body is completely relaxed so it is much more easier for blood to reach that area. hence, the woody every morning.

Yes, it is just a natural body function like a females hormonal cycle. it is some thing we can't control.
