I got this virus on my computer that none of my anti virus software (mcafee, adaware) can fix.

The virus tells me i have a virus with a system alert message in a bubble in the corner of the screen.

i looked it up and found that there is a virus that tells you that you have a virus just like that. but i have found no solutions that have worked so far. The virus had more to it before, with all kinds of windows poping up as advertisements for free antivirus software (which i found are ALSO viruses) and a window poping up telling me specific viruses i have. but all but the thing in the corner of the screen are gone. via other anti viruses.

Does anyone know what i can use to fix this virus?
i would type in the exact message that comes up in the corner of the screen but its not there long enough and only comes every 10 minutes or so. someone please help me!

Try this if you are running XP...

Disconnect your internet connection. Then bring up the task manager by pressing Control+Alt+Delete. Once you have done this, click on the processes tab. This will bring up all of the things that are running on your computer. Find any process that does not say "SYSTEM" next to it. Once you do that, one at a time, right click on each process and choose "end process tree". I know this sounds scary, but it won't harm your computer. What this is doing is ending that application and everything that is associated with it. (this will allow you to eliminate your virus because most viruses won't let you delete them while they are running). After you end a process tree, use your pointer to highlight where the bubble is coming from. If the bubble is still there, that is the wrong process. Keep doing this until you end a process tree and now the bubble disappears. The only thing that you want running that doesn't say SYSTEM next to it is "explorer" and "taskmgr" (taskmanager). Remember which process you ended that caused the bubble to go away. Once you figure out the process, go to Start/Search. Type in the process that made the bubble go away (you won't need to type in the .exe) Once your computer finds it, manually go to that location and delete the folder that it is in. (for example, if your process was called "bubble.exe" and you typed in bubble for your search, your search says that your virus is in C:/Windows/Program Files/Bubble Maker/bubble. Find the folder that says "Bubble Maker" and delete that folder). Be sure that you do this only if you are sure that you have the right process.

Ad-Aware SE Personal is a Lavasoft product and is free to download at www.download.com. Two other good programs are Spyboy Search & Destroy, and SpywareBlaster. Both of those programs protect your PC from spyware before it gets installed. Spybot can also scan your PC. I recommend running both and Ad-Aware and Spybot scan because I've seen cases where one finds something that the other doesn't. Make sure to update the definition files before running your scans. This will make sure you are searching for the most recent problems. I use all 3 of these programs on my PC and haven't had any spyware/adware problems since. Spybot and SpywareBlaster download sites can be found by using your favorite search engine. Avast! or AVG-Free are both free anti-virus programs, so I would recommend installing one of those as well.

Try www.trendmicro.com It's a free online virus\spyware\malware scanner
Click on the option 'Free Tools'
I have found that this site finds and cleans viruses\spyware\malware that Norton or McAfee misses and can't remove.

Reason Number 56,908 that I abandoned Microsoft, and that Microsoft did, too, for some of the OTHER 821 Operating Systems! Funny, 100% of all Spam, virus, bots, run in Microsoft zombied PCs!

I run http://pclinuxos.com which took about 40 minutes to install with it's 5500 games, programs, apps. browsers, suites...

Microsoft runs Linux on all 45,000 of their servers, and computer systems, at Redmond, Hotmail.com (since 1997), MSN.com, and Microsoft.com!

Google runs Linux. Yahoo runs FreeBSD, another great 'Nix!
Yes, 84% of all internet systems are 'Nix. the Fortune 1,000 all run Linux.

Stupid not to, it's FREE!!! And, secure.
