Ganguly is in the team because of his captaincy and batting ability and not for his fielding. His ground fielding is pathetic when compared to present-day fielding standards. Ever since the Australians exposed his weakness for the short-pitched stuff, he ceased to be the offside wonder. The best thing about Ganguly is that he would rather attack than be defensive, both as captain and as batsman.

you guys all look at other people's answer and tell it not thinking in your own oppinion. The actual answer according to articles is kumble because he had a leg broken in 1997 when he switched to spin not being able to run very well. It is obvious that it proved out that kumble was better at spinning. Not being able to run very well his fielding capability decreased. He was a very great fielder probably one of the best and comparable to yuvraj and kaif. He in his interviews says he misses those old nice times.
