I read about an abandoned amusement park in Harper's Ferry West Virginia but have lost the information entirely. I know the Enchanted Forest amusement park has been shut down, and that's relatively near Harper's Ferry. Also there is an old amusement park near the beltway in seasonal use, but this one was definitely on an ISLAND! Help?

The haunted island you are referring to is Blennerhassett Island in the Ohio River near Parkersburg, WV. (The Ohio River forms the border between OH and WV.) Blennerhassett was a friend of the famous Aaron Burr, and the island itself has been the site of a few ghostly sightings over the years. The Revolutionary War era mansion still sits on the island, and has been restored to its former glory. I camped on the island back in the Eighties during a Boy Scout gathering, and while we didn't see anything, we felt rather spooked at times, as though someone was standing off in the trees watching us.
Now as for Harper's Ferry, it was the site of the abolitionist John Brown's revolution during the Civil War, and it is located in our Eastern Panhandle on the border of WV/VA/MD. Many stories have been told about the soldier ghosts that haunt that region, and the Potomac River that was the site of so many Revolutionary War stories and hauntings.
I myself live in Charleston, WV, down in the south-central part of the state.

I am originally from West Virginia, and have spent a great deal of time touring the very beautiful and scenic state. There is SOOO much history with civil war battles around Harpers Ferry. It has actually been documented of local citizens seeing civil war soliders on horseback galloping through the woods, and wounded soldiers resting on the mountainside, with no special events or re-enactments taking place. If you consider this to be a haunting....then yes it's all over Harpers Ferry! There is so much rich history there, along with several other places in the state....such as Pt. Pleasant, WV...home of the world-famous Mothman.

Harpers Ferry is haunted. But I know of no haunted amusement parks in WV. I searched and found a litte info on a Enchanted Forest amusement park in VA but not in WV.

Sounds like you are looking for info on Harpers Ferry in VA not WV.

If your really think it is in WV and can come up with a little more info maybe I can find somthing for you. I love the local stories.

to be honest with you there isn't no haunted island in V.A. because my friend told me about that to but then she found out that they only did it to "try" to make you scared. so there is nothing to worry about
