my sandisk sansa (4gb) mp3 player locked-up?

tried to replay a favorite tune and the thing locked-up. i can't even turn it off. can anyone help? It's brand new.

First check to make sure the hold latch isn't on. It should be located on the side. If this is on all the buttons become inactive. Other than that pop out the battery to shut it off and the put it back in and see if it restarts!
