Not sure what type of crowd you're looking for or the budget...

If you want a nice place to sit and eat with co-workers/clients, then I'd recommend Evvia - it has good Mediterranean food (the website looks weak, but the food is good and decor is nice).

If you want something cheap and cheerful - then Pluto's (http://www.plutosfreshfood.com/locations.html) is good for a quick lunch. 853.1556 482 University Avenue @ Cowper Palo Alto, CA 94301

If you're looking for a family spot - then check out:
Max's Opera Cafe Tele: 323.6297 -- 711 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto, CA 94304
California Pizza Kitchen -- Tele: 323-7332 -- 531 Cowper St., Palo Alto, CA 94301
