In the film, when Bond first meets Vesper on the train, their first lines lead you to belive that this is a young Moneypenny;I watched the movie believing she was Moneypenny until it got to the twist ending. Was this really Moneypenny or a totally new character? Also, where was Q in the film?

Vesper was the first Bond girl. Q didn't show up til one of the first Bond films. Producer Kevin McClory, who later got the rights to make the Bond film Never Say Never Again, came up with the character Q, not Ian Fleming.

casino royale is meant to be the first in the series
and i like vesper she's nice as a bond girl
so that's why there is no moneypenny or Q

Neither considering she is killed at the end of movie............and this is the beginning of Bonds career as a 00, so Q may not have come into the picture as of yet.........
