It proves one thing about Zito, it's all about the money. Winning a world championship is obviously secondary to him. The Giants have no chance and with the Bonds on going soap opera, Zito now becomes part of the landscape.
No one in baseball is worth the money they get for playing a kids game. And I mean no one! It doesn't surprise me that Zito stayed close to home. I'm not so sure he could have taken the pressure of the Big Apple whether it was with the Yankees or the Mets. Of course if he wanted to win, I mean really give himself a chance to win a championship that would have been the only place he could have gone.
Funny, but lately I haven't heard BOO! out of all the Yankees detractors. You think it might have something to do with all the other teams shelling out fortunes to all the available free agents? Ahhhhh, could be!!!!

definite, Barry Zito isn't pitching nicely, yet he's not getting any run help which does not help the reason. no matter if he had an era of four.00 or some thing, he nonetheless does not have a good record. If the Giants out up some runs on the board for him, he may actual pith nicely and get a win.

After the Mets signed another player in the same position, the name fails me at the moment, it was pretty much a definite that the Mets weren't going to look as hard at Zito. Zito is a good big leager, but I think he likes himself a little more than the league and maybe even some of his own fans do.

I don't think that he should've come to the Giants. I think that he was better off going to the Seattle Mariners or even the Texas Rangers, but not going with the other Barry ("Steroid Barry") to San Fransisco. San Fran sucks and he is going to lose a lot of games with the Giants, so don't expect them to do a whole lot good next year even with Barry Zito. Watch the A's win the World Series next year, and then you'll have Zito crying at home, having played his whole life in Oakland, and the year he leaves, is the year the A's win the World Series.

Zito is a good pitcher. I guess he wanted to stay in Northern California.
