My Dell Computer has a ton of junk and files that I don't need, And I would like to know how to wipe out my hard drive and start my Computer over.

If you want to start over then have your Windows disk ready. You can format the C: drive which will take everything off the drive, but then you must re-install every application. If you do this be sure that all personal files are backed up.
If you just want to get rid of junk files then it is somewhat of a task.
You can start by bringing up Windows Explore and selecting My Computer. Then right click on the C: drive and select "properties".
A pictograph of the disk should appear along with a button that says "Disk Cleanup". Select this button and follow the directions. This will get rid of some junk files. The rest are individual application files that must be deleted manually. After this is done you should go back to the C: drive "properties" select "tools" and run "Defragment Now" to make disk utilization more efficient.

If you have a registered copy of the operating system,
format the hard drive, and that will wipe it for most purposes. Format it several times. Then reinstall the operating system.
If you don't like that, get a program called "Uninstaller,"
but you will have to pick what to keep and discard, and there are 1000s of files...

If data on your hard disk is corrupted it is advisable to format the hard disk and reinstall the operating system (usually Windows XP). If a new hard disk is used, you may prefer to partition the hard disk into 2 or more drive. Okay, if that's really what you want to do. But I'd spend a day just going thru your files and saving ones you MIGHT want sometime later. This goes for emails, settings, as well as files.
Then look at the documentation that came with the computer, and use your restore cds that came with it also.

Put the red CD that was given with the computer. It will wipe everything and i mean everything out.

Open a DOS window and type in "format c:"..... When prompted are you sure, say yes....
Actually the above is harsh.... Insert the OS cd-rom and when asked to repair choose no, and do a fresh install of Windows OS.... At one point you can delete and repartition and format the hard drive...

Put your start up disc you got with your computer. Shut down computer then start it back up and follow directions to start procedure.

you go to controll pannel then you go to add/remove programs then you delete what you dont want or just simply insert windows disk and restart the entire system
