The other person does not have the money to pay me my half.Can i talk to a court member,judge maybe to have the property put up for sale without the other persons permission.Don't want to hire a lawyer.Thank you.

I believe the only way to get your money back, is if your co-owner buys you out, or you sell your half to another party. You would have to look at the contract, and see if you are able to do this. Otherwise you have a legal obligation to honor the contract.

I know you don't want to but your going to have to hire a lawyer because at some point you entered a verbal contract with that person to split the land and if you don't want any ramifications from them (breach of contract) you going to need a lawyer to get you out of that contract
