The Middle and Far East - I get confused when they talk about these countries on the news as I don't know where they are in relation to each other and the rest of the world. I got a huge atlas for Christmas so I have already been able to make a start!

Colombia, Lebanon, Spain, or Israel so I could know more about my culture.

But if it was for a LONG time, I would start at western Europe, because that's where all of the history of the Western World started. From there I could go to Africa, then America (North & South), then I would go to Australia.

After I was done with that, I would go on to study eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

I would say the far east, I should know where all the countries are, if someone told me to point to where Burma or Mongolia was, I wouldn't have a clue. I have also watched some programmes about Japan and it fascinates me, it always seams a bit strange to me, I should try and understand their way of life more.

Middle Eurasia, as I have less of a clue about that whole hunk o' land, and much of the borders have changed recently. (All our atlases are old and show the USSR.)

What would be really cool would be a globe that was big enough to really see.

Preferably one that was pasted together from satellite photos (paste, to get the whole Earth under clear skies).
