Do you ever get those coworkers who always come by your office or cubicle with daily family or friend drama and you just dont want to hear it? Man! I am sick and tired of people coming to my cubicle and going on and on and on about stupid drama. I even try to make it look like what I'm doing is so important and Im too busy to even listen, I will even sit there and act like Im typing so that they would go away but they dont! aye. Ok sorry had to vent and see if anyone else feels my pain.

I think it's a problem most everyone suffers from, at least now and then and to varying degrees.

Co-workers suck! lol

I feel your pain. I used to work with this girl who thought if you didn't talk to her that you hated her (which most people did). Very into her own looks, tried to hard to be friends that she just irritated everyone. She finally quit and when noone had happy hour for her, she got mad & left early. Sounds mean, but what else do you do?
She come into my office one day and asked if I thought the people in the office were 'clicky' (not spelled right), and I told her no. She said something like 'why can't everyone be friends?' and I told her that 'we are in a working environment, that we don't have to be friends, just to tolerate everyone'. She got mad & left cause I didn't agree with her. Didn't talk to me for a couple weeks. It was nice.

You need to be firm, put you foot down and say, "I'm busy and I don't have time for your epic tales today." They'll get the message.Pretending to type won't work, you just have to tell them off. If this doesn't work, tell your supervisor these drama queens are interfering with your productivity. I'm sure this will work.

I feel you. But think of it as a positive thing. At least they feel that you're easy to talk to. My co-workers do the same thing, except many of them stand behind me. It's only when they start breathing hard that I know that they're there. Now that's annoying. Maybe you should act like you're going to the copy machine on those days that you don't feel like hearing their negativity.

You see, you just did what other people do. Everyone needs to vent sometimes, but if they are venting every day, they are crying out for help, please show a little compassion and try to help them with some answers, if not some action, if you can. God Bless.

Yes, it can be very annoying, but it sounds like you're doing all you can to discourage it, short of being totally rude. Maybe you could find a little comfort in the fact that they must trust you and think enough of you to confide in you.

Speak the hell up and tell them now is not the time! See me on break or lunch time and continue with your work. Eventually it will stop! You don't have to say it in an evil way just politely say it.
