i have a fender, and they are pretty sweet. mine was $200 something, and from the store i went to they gave me free amp with it too, so try to get a deal like that. i also have an ovation, but that was more around $400 something.

go for an Epiphone SG or Les Paul,,,,very good quality for the price---150 to 300--don't waste your money on cheap crap-poor sound and quality----you'll never regret spending the extra for a quality instrument
