Who has time to wait for a book?

Let's say you have 3 files, named filea.xls, fileb.xls and filec.xls. You want to add specific cells from all 3 files.

Click on a cell, then type an = sign. Now, one cell at a time, click on each cell you want to add, then enter a plus sign (+), then click the next cell. You can use the Window command to move to each file.

When you're done, you should have a formula that looks something like this:
=[filea.xls]Sheet1!$B$12 + [fileb.xls]Sheet3!$A$3 + [filec.xls]MyTab!$P$223

Do you mean simultaneously?
The files would have to be linked.
If you are not familiar with this, open Excel and click the Help button.
You might also consider a book. I buy used books from www.amazon.com. I have gotten some really great and rather expensive books, used, at great prices. All I have received so far are in excellent condition.
