My computer keeps turning itself on and off. I dont even get to the window page and it will turn off. It will do this 3 - 4 times and then just shut off. After about 5 minutes, it does the same thing again. Can someone please shed some light on this?

Thanks.

Seems like it is overheating, I would open the case and check if the heat sink has dust and lint accumulated.

Get compressed air can and clean the interior.

If this doesn't fix it let me know.

Could be a couple of things.
It could be dirty, I would open the case and take some canned air and blow out all the dust including the back side of the power supply which will have a fan on it on the backside of your computer.
Could be a bad power supply, maybe the computer is not getting enough juice to boot up.
Could be the your motherboard dying as well and hope that is not the problem try cleaning it and see what happens.

You probably need to replace the power supply, it's a very easy fix. Go to Best Buy and ask one of the guys that work in the computer department.

I had the same problem and eventually it wouldn't even turn on. By boyfriend just replaced the power supply and instantly it was fixed.

Could be anything, see if you can run it in safe mode, if you can, then it's probably a virus or driver issue.

If you can't it's probably a bad piece of hardware.
