Like the United States, Canada is polarized politically. Unlike a President, Stephen Harper is the head of the party rather than an elected leader. Therefore he has the support of those who believe in the Conservative party. Westerners favor these ideals more than the East, so depending on who you talk to the answer may vary. But his party was elected to power, so some voters like him.

Do I like the man...no. Did I vote for him....no. Am I surprised and pleased with the job he is doing.......yes.
