Math is a language a lot like any other. Math is part of any monetary system. You use math to tell time if the large hand is on one number and the small hand on another, is it closer to after the hour or is it before the hour? Example it is 9:15 (quarter after 9, or 9:45 it is 15 minutes until 10? Math can be quite complex too. Weather people use high level math to forecast the storm that may be approaching. Probability and statistics is another high form of math. What is the probability that this girl/guy likes you? Will you get in trouble for doing this or that? What is the probability that Santa exists? There are several forms of math used everyday to produce food. How much can the farmer grow in what amount of space. (geometry) When does the farmer need to plant? Will there be enough rain or should they irrigate the land? (probability and stats) What is the break even point? (trig, probability, stats ) These lists are all endless, but you need to understand the basics of math to chose your career or future. All these sports stars or music stars. How do they figure the price of a ticket? Their multimillion dollar salary? All Math!!!

You need math for everything. It actually is a subject that you will use throughout your whole life.
How will you measure things without math?
How will you know how much money you have?
Or how much you pay for something when there is a sale?
How will you make money in the stock market when you can't understand the financials?
Or how would there be a stock market at all if there wasn't math?
How would you figure out how long it would take you to get somewhere?
How would you tell if your gas prices had gone up?
Or be able to predict how much you are paying for your bills?
How would we know all that we know in science without mathematics?
How would we count anything?
How would we figure out anything?

Perhaps a better question is how doesn't mathematics help the world.

It doesn't.
We don't need money, ways to parcel things up, time, computers, or any modern technology...all those need math and we don't need math.
We should live in the stone age...but before the wheel...because wheels take math too...
DOH!
