Since 864 acres is 1.35 square miles, one possible configuration would be to have a plot that is 0.5 miles by 2.7 miles. Another would be 1 mile by 1.35 miles.

First, 640 acres = 1 sq mile.
So 864 acres = 1.35 sq mi.
So you are looking for 2 positive real numbers l and w
such that lw = 1.35.
There are infinitely many such pairs.
One solution is to make l and w equal.
Then both are equal to √1.35 or about 1.169 miles.
Another is w = 2, l = .675 or l = 2, w = .675.

1.349999999866563 square miles is equal to 864 acres i believe.
So im figuring 1.14 miles length and 1.14 miles width, which come out to about 1.3 square miles.

864 acres=864/640=1.35 mi^2

possibilities include:

1X1.35
.5*2.7
.9*1.5
2/3X2.25
1.2X1.125
