Bush decided yesterday that the polar bears need protection from the effects of global warming. Do reps agree with this decision? Or is it still all in Gore's head?

Leogirl, try reading some of the answers from your fellow reps. They DO deny it. Yes, they do. i even asked a question a few weeks ago...'We all agree that global warming exists, but we disagree with what causes it' And they ALL denied it then. Please, get a gauge on how your party actually feels, will 'ya?

Funny, when the hippies insisted that we get rid of CFCs in our products, the hole in the ozone layer all but disappeared. but if you want to call ME stupid, by all means. Still ,not oneperson to say that the reps were wrong, and have changed their minds. oh well, that is why I am not a republican.

It's not so much that he changed his mind about the matter, but rather that he has been enlightened about the matter, primarily through the environmental lobby creating much commotion to him about the plight of the polar bears and other Arctic wildlife.

Please stop mentioning Gore for all our sakes though.

This issue is so not about him anymore, and he is by no means the founder of global warming awareness, only the person with the most money, clout, and media influence to mass produce this awareness, for which he does deserve credit however.

p.s. - people who call either Bush or Gore idiots are themselves the idiots because both of them attended Harvard and know more about the issues of our times than most of us sitting on our butts ranting about nothing on our computers.

Global warming is a very real issue. Gore has had the knowledge & the courage to take on this probelm & educate people. Hopefully after the Polar Bears have been declared as endangered Republicans will smarten up and listen to the real issues of this country and our planet. Instead of policing the world maybe we will start looking ahead for the future of our children. Its silly to think Global warming is not an issue. It is something that human beings are causing with our pollution. So once again lets get out there and educate those silly republicans and just hope they will smarten up and listen to the real issues.

Well, of course there is no such thing as global warming. The ice caps are only melting because they want to. Or God heard people complain that it is too cold.

By the way, there is a difference between "survival of the fittest" and a species dying because they have nowhere to live due to human abuse of the environment.

And if we truly believe in "survival of the fittest" then why the heck do we have hospitals? I guess we should just let those wussy "weaklings" in the hospital die out so only the strong people survive. Who likes a little kid with cancer, anyway.

Your wording shows your lack of actually listening to what people who disagree with Gore post. I disagree with Gore for several reasons, chief among them is the idea that global warming is a direct cause of human activity.

There are some simple facts that argue against human caused global warming, mainly the increased solar activity, doubling of the magnetosphere of the sun and a decrease of cosmic rays hitting the upper atmosphere, the melting of the Martian Polar Ice Caps, and the increase in vulcanization on Terra. I beleive that it is arrogant to assume that humanity's contribution exceeds any of these variables, given that the earth has been cooler and warmer than now without human existence on the planet.

Polar bears are at risk because polac ice area is getting smaller, thus making their hunting grounds less spacious and more competitive. Global warming casuing the ice melt is a fact, and Bush has NEVER in his presidency denied global warming. At the begining of his presidency he started a presidential commission on how to measure the impact of global warming on coming generations. I wish that research would trump your rhetoric, but I believe I will be sorely disappointed.

Al Gore supported an effective gas tax hike initiative in California, which was thankfully defeated (Proposition 87).

So, until he reaches a point where he's not pulling more money out of peoples pockets, no, I won't lay off of him.

I do agree that we need alternative, clean forms of energy sooner rather than later. But I don't think we should be taxed any further to have government do it. Tax the profits of big oil, who are making a killing selling to China right now.

If Bush decided to walk off a cliff, would poster "Andy G" be in goose-step, right behind him?

I've never seen such a person with political blinders.

Actually it was the Department Of Interior that made those statements and not Bush. So global warming is still a theory which means the verdict is still out on Gores made up lie.

Gore is still an idiot and a manipulator of data to go along with his agenda. The President, nor anyone else for that matter has ever denied Global Warming. The question is what is causing it. And here is where the experts and Gores camp disagree.
