Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans were told years ago about how great it would be, yet the only people I've seen NAFTA work for are rich businessmen in the U.S. and Canada who ship their operations down to Mexico (and Asia, too) where they can exploit workers by paying them next to nothing. The U.S. and Canada used to have factories everywhere ... now they are all GONE. Instead, we have a sh*tload of call centers everywhere where workers make only slightly more than minimum wage. This is how I see NAFTA. Am I missing something here???

You have it right. When H. Ross Perot was running for President in the 1990's he said when NAFTA goes into effect you will hear a giant sucking sound of jobs going down to Mexico. That was step one. Step Two is the North American Union http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 where Bush wants an open border with Mexico and Canada, and you can bet many more jobs will be lost and the rich will get richer. While we debate the merits of the unfunded border fence, BushCo has signed the treaties to make large corporations even larger and greatly increase their profits, while American workers wages will take an even bigger dive lower. The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is a commercial agreement among Canada, the United States of America, and Mexico which promised free trade and easier flows of capital among the signatory nations. (Wikipedia)

NAFTA has been slightly beneficial, and isn't the cause of the problem.

The problem is free trade with China.. a country which buys very little from the US.

No economic union is perfect. I think NAFTA should be able to solve its own problems in time. The US economy is fluctuating somewhat.
