Vagisil and monistat treat yeast infections....you can do 7 day treatments or 3 days....3day usually more expensive. Keep your underwear clean...use cotton panties, not silk or satin. Take a bath in epsom salt.....there is also over the counter pills to take to prevent yeast infections....you can find it at CVS with the yeast infection creams....also incorporate yogurt into your daily eating habits.

If you have never been diagnosed with a yeast infection you are supposed to be diagnosed by a doctor first before taking any medication.
I, myself, have never been diagnosed with yeast infection in the past by a doctor but I know the steps to take.
If you want to spend 13 dollars on an over the counter yeast infection you can take the advice of everyone on here and go to rite aid and grab some name brand stuff that will cost you anywhere between 13-18 bucks from what I've seen.
If you have a tight budget you can get some over the counter medication that is the "store" brand which does the same job for less money. These usually cost about 7-10 dollars.
Normally they come in a "7 day" treatment box. Those ones are supposed to be most effective.
I have been told by many people that you don't want to use a douche because the vinegar in the douche washes away some of the bacterias you need to keep your vagina healthy with its natural odors.
How do I know all of this and have never had or been diagnosed for a yeast infection? I do a lot of shopping around and I pay attention to a lot of feminine products because I have girlfriends, a mom, and people like you online who have asked similiar questions about health issues. I am not an expert on the "feminine hygeine" aisle or anything and I am still learning stuff about my body also.
I hope this helps you but I suggest you see a doctor if you are a first timer!

Ah, the joys of being a women. ;) Yes, we've all been there. Here's my advice ...
If this is the first time you've had a yeast infection please go to the doctor before trying to self diagnose. Other female issues can have the same symptoms as a yeast infection. You want to make sure you're using the right medicine to get rid of the issue.
If you've had a yeast infection before, simple call your OB/GYN and ask him/her to prescribe (I can't remember the name of the drug) but it's a small pink oral pill that you can take. It lasts for 7-14 days and will cure a yeast infection faster and with less mess than the other products on the market.
You can also go on www.webmd.com and look up information on yeast infections if you have more questions.
Hang in there! You'll be fine in a few days.
Good luck! :)

There's over the counter meds...I do believe the 1 day med treats it better than the 7 day and who wants that for 7 days and you can cure it in 1..also stop wearing colored undies its fine to wear them just make sure the seat is white..no real tight jeans thats the number one cause of yeast infections..Good luck

Monistat or any over-the-counter antifugal for the vaginal area. If this is your first yeast infection, you should see your doctor first.

medication (pills) or cream that the gynecologist prescribes for you. i personally would not try some o-t-c creams as they may not work.
