It is theoretically possible. There is an island off Europe that is in the process of splitting. If the western half drops into the ocean it could cause a mega tsunami, much larger than the one that hit south asia two years ago. There was a special on the discovery channel a while back about mega tsunamis.

It could, if an Earth impact asteroid hit the waters off the Atlantic it could cause one. There are also some geological fault lines that could slip and cause it. But the odds are so much that they are not really worth worrying about.
