If you have two points, first you must find the slope between them:

The slope is the change in y over the change in x:
m = (y1 - y2)/(x1 - x2)
m = (3 - 1)/(0 - -1) = 2/1 = 2

Then pick a point (I pick 0,3) and either use the slope-intercept equation or the point-slope equation (I pick slope-intercept):

y = mx + b
3 = 2(0) + b
b = 3

So the equation will be:

y = 2x + 3

Check:
1 = 2(-1) + 3 check
3 = 2(0) + 3 check

I assume what you mean is a linear equation.

First, you need to find the slope of the line,

m = (3-1)/(0+1) = 2

Then use point-slope form to write the equation. You can pick any of the two points. Pick (0,3),

y = 2x +3

I use the slope intercept form to do this.
y=mx+b

m=(Y2-Y1)/(X3-X1)=(3-1)/(1--1)=2
y=2x+b
now you can substitute either point to get b
1=2*-1+b
1=-2+b add 2 to each side
b=3 so the equation is
y=2x+3

check by substituting the other point
3=2*0+3
3=3

You first find the slope.
ANSWER: 2 / 1 OR 2
SHOWING THE WORK
M = (( 3 ) - ( 1 )) / (( 0 ) - (-1 ))
M = 2 / 1
M = 2
--------------------------------------------------
Now you put that into slope-intercept form.
(0,3) means that 3 is the y intercept.
So the equation is:
Y = 2x + 3

*You need to know the slope formula >
>>> m = (second y - first y)/(second x - first x)

m = (3 - 1)/(0 - (-1))
m = 2/1 = 2

First: take your slope, one set of points (0, 3) and place them in the slope-intercept form > find the y-intercept ("b")

y = mx + b
3 = 2(0) + b
3 = 0 + b
3 = b; b = 3

Second: take the slope, y-intercept and place them in the slope-intercept form:

y = 2x + 3

y-y1 = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) {(x-x1)}
y-1= (2/1){(x+1)}
y-1=2x + 2
y = 2x + 3
