I believe that your source is the aincient myan Calander and they have predicted alot of things correctly. The date you are reffering to is the date that the sun aligns its self with the center of our galaxy and that is an event that only happens once every 2600 years or so. Also this is the day that the earth completes one full revelution on its wabble axis so that makes it even more rare. Ther is no doubt that the aincient Myans were light years ahead of thier time in astrology but does this mean the end of the world? I highly doubt it. Even if it does we still have a few good years left so enjoy. No one can predict the end of the world except for the people with thier finger on the nuclear buttons.

Nobody knows the date and I would be a fool to claim that I do, only God knows this information anything else would be sheer speculation. However I believe I have found the exact day and time. All numbers add up… As they say do the math.

On February 13, 2009 - A celebration is expected as the Unix time number reaches 1234567890 seconds at 23:31:30 UTC. (Once in a lifetime occurrence!)

Friday the 13th being associated with bad luck. Jesus was crucified on a Friday and betrayed by the 13th Apostle.(Jesus an Apostle of God plus 12 equals 13 in total, Judas was the 13th)

Friday is the 6th day and 2/13 = 6 and since we now know 2009 is really 1998 = 666. Giving us a total of 66666

That would mean when Unix time reaches 1234567890 seconds on Friday, February 13, 2009 (1998) at 11:31pm UTC = 666666 a total of six sixes.

Even without that out that extra six, I think the evidence points to this day.

There was a bit alignment a couple of years ago. Nothing happened.

Its just a load of nonsense cooked up by astrologers.

Ask an astronomer when the worlds gonna end and you'll get a far more realistic answer. In fact, we may only have about 6 billion years left.

Asteroid strikes may wipe out life before that but as for planetary alignments causing damage? Oh puhleeease.......

There are other ancient teachings that disagree. The Vedas, for example.
I have no fear whatsoever that the 'world' will end in 2012. I do have fears that humanity's ability to survive on the planet will be very seriously threatened in the not-so-distant future.
I believe humans have so unbalanced the natural order of things that many life-forms will not be able to survive. In addition, we have developed so many deadly technologies etc. that we very well may 'wipe ourselves out'...
The planet itself would benefit hugely if mankind was gone for a millennium or two. We as a species have plundered and spoiled so much... It is a sad thing, but wiping out billions of humans would undoubtedly be the best thing that could happen to planet earth.
Not to worry, however. The soul is eternal and cannot be harmed nor killed. EveryBODY will die sooner or later... learn the spiritual lessons we are being given and next time around will be better.

The Mayans were very intellegent for their time and their calenders point to this date being the end. Doomsday Prophecies some people call it. However, upon watching a special on the History Channel, I found that this end of the world is just our current translation of the Mayan prophecies. They believed that eras would come to the end and that their calendar and writings actually predict that the era we're in will come to an end, but will also start over into a new one. Who knows what that new era will be.

It's based on the Mayan calendar. It could be true, time will tell. On the other hand, that might just be the date on which the calendar cycle ends and things start over again. The planetary alignment (which I don't know about, but will look into) would only indicate the extent to which the Mayans understood astronomy when they created their calendar.

Dec 21st 2012 the Mayan Tzolkin calendar runs out.

But it is supposed to be 'something new' afterwards.
It is an end of the 13th Baktun and signals and end to the entire sequence of their calendar. that calendar began roughly 3114 B.C.E. and has been running ever since. Amazingly that it still keeps time, especially considering the Mayans and their forebears had no telescopes.

The end of an Epoch.... and interestingly enough the Mayans themselves ceased to be a huge civilization a the end of the 11th Baktun. Of course who knows why they all left their perfectly good cities and wandered out into the jungles....

I am counting the days! When that day comes and the world doesn't end, then what?! God acts on his own time and we have no idea when that is going to happen. Well, it does say we don't know the day or time, but it didn't say the month or year. Hmmmm......? Possible? Could be.
