I have a Toshiba Satelite A75-S211 and I'm pretty sure it's overheating when I'm running certain processor heavy applications such as gaming, DVD playback, movie playback. The laptop will randomly shut off without warning after a period of time. (approx. half an hour) When I try to turn it back on the power light just blinks and then shuts off. If I leave the laptop off for a while it will boot up again.

So my question is, what do you laptop users do to keep your laptops cool?

Toshiba is believed to be selling one of the best laptobs, but truely it isn't. Toshiba's fan is located under the lasptob, which will get rid of the heat. But if the laptob is placed on a place that blocks the fan, the heat is unable to get out and the harddrive gets hot and just shuts off. I have a Toshiba as well, what i do is place a book under it when i want to work, that gives enough space for the heat to go out. But if you don't want to do that, you could get a Cooling Pad, which goes under the laptob and cools down the harddrive. Either works

There might be dust built up in the CPU fan. Take a can or compressed air and blow it out. It would be best to take the laptop apart and clean it that way, but if you are not confident in doing so, don't.
