Looks like Illinois state sales tax is 6.25%.

So from $100, 10% off will mean you pay $90 for the phone before tax.

With tax it will be $90(1.0625) = $95.63

If the cost of the phone is $110, 10% off would be $11 off, so you'd pay $99 before tax, and $99(1.0625) = $105.19 after tax.

it is 100 * 10 = 1000/100 = 10.
the phone is $90.
the tax is 90*the amount of tax. then you get that number, and divide it by 100. for example if the tax is 10 percent, then the price would be calculated 90 * 10 which is equal to 900 then divided by 100 which is equal to 9, and then added to your price without tax which comes out to a total of $99 .

take away 10% leaves 90% or .9
$100*.9=$90 plus the tax. I don't know the tax in IL either. what ever it is, convert % to a decimal & add 1. Multiply this by $90.

example, if tax is 6%, 6%=.06
1+.06=1.06
$90*1.06=$95.40

$100 - 10% = $90

10% of $100 is $10 (100/10 = 10)

so $100 - $10 = $90
the highest tax rate of IL is 7.25% sales tax
*i'm not sure about this part, it's what i found on the illinois state revenue website*
you're likely to pay $96.53 +/- $4.00 depending on where you live

$90 plus tax I think it is 6.25% in IL, so your price will be $96.00 Of course that changes if I am wrong on the tax rate or if you are in a city or county that has an additional tax (IE: chicago)

10% off is $90, tax is 6.25 percent, so 90 x 6.25% would equal 5.625. Round the .005 up to get .01. That would equal $95.63
